E3 2019 – Watch the Ubisoft Press Conference
Ubisoft held their annual E3 conference today, showcasing a slew of new titles including a new Watch Dogs game that looks to fantastic and new game called Gods & Monsters, set in ancient Greece and developed by the team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey…only far more cartoony this time around.
There’s also a host of updates to their current roster as well, with an expanded road-map for The Division 2’s Year 1 content and word on a Netflix live-action movie. Rainbow Six Siege continues to get excellent post-launch support, with Operation Phantom Sight named as the new expansion that’ll bring a new operator to the fold.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey fans got an unexpected announcement – an all-new story creator mode that will allow players to generate and share their own story-based content. I’m interested in seeing more of this, as it offers the opportunity to tell your own story within the Odyssey framework, including your own dialogue and branching conversation options.
There’s also going to be a Tour update for Odyssey, bringing an educational tourism mode to the game like Assassin’s Creed Origins received for ancient Egypt.
Fans expecting a new Splinter Cell, including yours truly, were disappointed… Maybe next time.
