Oninaki Now Available for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PS4
Tokyo RPG Factory is well-known for its ability to tell a solid story, but with Oninaki it looks like they’re taking aim at criticisms about the gameplay side of things. The action-RPG has players in the role of Kagachi, a young Watcher who helps guide Lost Souls to the next world, and offers up a choice of two modes: Story, for a more traditional Tokyo RPG Factory focus on the narrative, and Battle, which highlights the combat systems.
Playing through the demo, which allows you to carry your progress through to the full game, I found Kagachi can summon Daemon’s souls, each with its own unique weapons and skillsets – think of them like the class system of typical games. I liked the variety available, even early on, and I’m curious to see what the full game has to offer.
Tokyo RPG Factory’s first step into the action-RPG genre offers up a different perspective on the traditional JRPG, grab the demo and try it for yourself.
