Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event Slated For August 5th

Samsung has revealed they will be unveiling the ‘latest ecosystem’ of their Galaxy-brand devices with a Galaxy Unpacked virtual event at 10 AM ET, August 5th, at samsung.com.

The teaser video doesn’t give us much to work with, but the rose gold colour matches mistakenly posted images of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra that were recently posted, albeit briefly, by Samsung Russia, and the use of the S-Pen might hint at new functionality for it…or it might be nothing.

It seems likely Samsung will bring the flagship Note’s camera array up to spec with that of the S20 Ultra, and while they’re lifting features from their other lines 5G support is a lock and it’d be a good idea to port over the option to flip over to 120 Hz display as well.

Samsung’s event has been delightfully leak-resistant compared to past years, likely due to COVID-19 changing the way business is done, so fans might actually see some surprises in the early-August presentation.

Then again, there is just shy of a month left…

Here’s the press release:
