Square Enix Expanding 'Stay Home And Play' Campaign
In a blog post, found here, Square Enix has announced the expansion of their ‘Stay Home and Play’ campaign designed to give gamers something to do while they stay at home and practice social distancing.
The program initially gave away Steam versions of the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider, as well as Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and has continued to reward gamers with games – a total of nearly 15 million copies downloaded to date.
Square Enix is committing to share more free games, if gamers commit to continue following safe distancing guidelines, and are partnering with TikTok and their ‘Kind Gestures’ program to share more games.
There are also going to be Steam ‘Stay Home and Play’ bundles that will give deep discounts on games, and Square Enix will be donating 100% of proceeds to Food Banks and other charities in both North America and Europe.
If that’s not enough, they’re also going to be showing appreciation for healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic, partnering with organizations like UKIE to give out games.
