Cyberpunk 2077’s release has been…less than ideal, to put it generously. The game reportedly runs and looks great on PC, and I’m plugging away at the Series X version and it looks and runs great there as well. I’ve hit some minor bugs, but nothing that’s broken the game – bugs are a lot more prevalent than in most games, but it’s still playable.
That is not the experience people are having on Xbox One and PS4, and while gamers on the Xbox side have consistently been able to get refunds on the game PS4 gamers weren’t so lucky – until now.
Sony’s move raises a lot of questions, however. Now that the game is delisted, will CD Projekt Red be able to issue new patches for it? What’s more, will the European developer be willing to go through the certification process for a patch – and the costs associated with it – for a console they can’t sell the game on?
More than likely Sony is going to require a PS4 patch that brings the game up to some base standard of playability before relisting it, as they don’t want a firestorm of negative press for putting a game back up before it’s ready.
But who decides what’s ‘playable’ now?
We’re in uncharted waters here, people. Buckle up.
Following up on the recent release of Xbox One X and Xbox Series X (via backwards compatibility) gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077, the hotly-anticipated open-world action-adventure/roleplaying title from CD Projekt Red, now we have footage from the PS4 Pro and PS5 (again in compatibility mode) to take a look at.
Here’s the two videos.
Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release on December 10th, 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Stadia. While it will be playable on Xbox Series S|X and PS5 via backwards compatibility, CD Projekt Red has promised a free upgrade to a full next-gen version will be available at a later date.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed a couple times, but that’s done nothing to kill off interest in the CD Projekt Red roleplaying game currently slated for release December 10th. If you’re the one gamer who isn’t pumped to jump into the dark world of Night City, check out this gameplay trailer that highlights five minutes of insane graphics, action, customization, and much, much more.
Cyberpunk 2077 will hit shelves on December 10th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Stadia. If you’ve managed to score an Xbox Series S|X or PS5 the game will be playable via backwards compatibility and at some point in the new year a free upgrade a next-gen version will become available.
When Cyberpunk 2077 hits shelves this fall, Xbox gamers can take in the cyberpunk goodness on a limited edition console. I’m not sure that enhances the experience, but the console does include the game so that gets you at least part of the way and I have to admit that it’s a pretty slick-looking piece of hardware.

Cyberpunk 2077 meets Xbox One X in custom console!
CD PROJEKT RED announces the upcoming release of limited-edition, Cyberpunk 2077-inspired Xbox One X console
Created in collaboration between designers from CD PROJEKT RED and Microsoft, the limited-edition, 1TB console encapsulates the urban decay and vibrant tech of Night City. Its design features glow-in-the-dark elements, custom decorative panels, LEDs, color-shift effects, and textures — all evoking numerous facets of Cyberpunk 2077’s dark future setting.
The console comes with an Xbox wireless controller uniquely inspired by the character of Johnny Silverhand, featuring a half natural, half cyber-enhancement chrome design. Available as part of the bundle later this year, the controller can also be purchased separately right now at select retailers, including the Microsoft Store.
Bundled alongside the console and controller will be an Xbox One digital download code for Cyberpunk 2077 and other surprises that will be announced soon. Additional details regarding the bundle and controller are available on the dedicated website. Cyberpunk 2077 will release September 17th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with the version for Google Stadia set to launch the same year. CD PROJEKT RED’s hugely-anticipated open-world RPG hasn’t lost any of its luster since last year’s Golden Joystick Awards, repeating as the Most Wanted Game.
The win isn’t surprising as the game has continued to look better and better as it winds its way through development. There’s slim chance it’ll three-peat though, as the game is slated for release on April 16th, 2020.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt makes the leap to Nintendo Switch with a Complete Edition version, slated for release digitally and at retail on October 15th, 2019. The monster-slaying Geralt doesn’t look quite as sharp as he does on the other versions, but there’s a lot to be said for being able to take your Witching action on the road…
Check out the release date trailer, as well as a gameplay walkthrough (embedded below) with a pair of CD PROJEKT RED team members that shows off the game quite well.
