Learn To Code With Rabbids Mobile

Ubisoft announced Rabbids Mobile today, but it’s not the all-out insanity of past Rabbids games, it’s an educational game that let kids learn to code with Rabbids to keep them interested.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Rabbids Coding has been out on PC for about a year but the jump to mobile should open up the audience tremendously. I know I’m going to download it and let my kinds have a shot at it…

Here’s the press release:

UBISOFT ANNOUNCES RABBIDS CODING IS NOW AVAILABLE ON MOBILE

The Free Coding Game Will Launch on iOS and Android and Will Add a Chinese Language Option

Montreal, October 22, 2020 — Today Ubisoft announced that Rabbids Coding, a free game designed to introduce kids to coding, is now available to play on mobile devices. The game will also add Simplified Chinese to its list of language options, which already includes English, French and German. These updates come one year after Ubisoft launched Rabbids Coding on Uplay for Windows PC.

Rabbids Coding was developed by Ubisoft Montreal with the goal of making coding training accessible and fun for everyone. In the game, players must use basic programming commands to clean up after the mischievous Rabbids, who have invaded a space station and left a mess in their wake. Simple and intuitive, Rabbids Coding can help players as young as seven (reading skills required) learn coding basics, including sequential programming, loops and conditions.

The game has also taken on a newfound importance during the global pandemic, as families have turned to digital solutions for home learning: since March, the number of Rabbids Coding players has increased by 150%. In July, Rabbids Coding won Best Learning Game at the 2020 Games for Change Awards.

“At Ubisoft, we believe that video games can play a role in teaching the technical skills that will be crucial for success in any number of careers in the future,” said Anthony Kozak, Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal and creator of Rabbids Coding. “By bringing Rabbids Coding to iOS and Android and providing a Chinese language option, Ubisoft is making the game even more accessible so that players of all ages around the world can learn to code at home in a fun and engaging way.”

Players can download the game for free on mobile through the App Store and Google Play, or play on Windows PC by logging in or creating a Uplay account at uplay.ubisoft.com

Ubisoft Connect Heralds New Age of Interconnected Gaming

Ubisoft has been far and away the leader in supporting their games post-launch, but their social tools have been a bit lacking. When it comes to the ‘social services’ side of gaming, they were one of the first to market in the space but were eclipsed by later, more full-fledged, offerings. They’re looking to change that with Ubisoft Connect – a melding of Uplay and Ubisoft Club that promises to connect players from across Ubisoft’s supported platforms.

I have to admit I don’t think there’s nothing really wrong with Ubisoft Club, it’s a functional little app that rewards you for using it with free content for your games. It’s not exciting though, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I opened it without being prompted in-game or via an email blast from Ubisoft…so maybe that’s the point.

Ubisoft Connect definitely IS exciting though, if only because it promises to connect players across consoles, PC, streaming, and mobile. Cross-platform play, cross-platform progression – now those are the kind of things gamers are looking for.

Having your services live in the cloud and exist on any and all platforms your players are engaging with is just smart business, and if Ubisoft supports this new venture anywhere near as well as they support their games, the competition might be stuck playing catch-up.

Here’s the press release:

Ubisoft Launches Ubisoft Connect, its Player Ecosystem Designed for a New Gaming Era

Ubisoft’s player ecosystem gets the biggest overhaul in its history and paves the way for cross-platform features and communities

Montreal – October 21, 2020 – Today, Ubisoft announced that its existing ecosystem of player services and loyalty program, Uplay and Ubisoft Club, will be refreshed and expanded as Ubisoft Connect. This new universal interface, through which players from all platforms will now interact with Ubisoft’s in-game services, activities and community, will be releasing from October 29 this year, starting with Watch Dogs: Legion.

The Ubisoft Connect experience will be available with an intuitive and seamless in-game overlay in Ubisoft’s latest and new titles. Ubisoft Connect is founded on Ubisoft’s ten-year experience of operating online services on Windows PC via Uplay, as well as the Ubisoft Club loyalty program that has provided 1.1 billion rewards to players to date. While the PC experience will continue to improve with dedicated services, this expansion enables players to now access Ubisoft’s in-game and social features, regardless of the platform they use, including consoles and cloud gaming services.

“A decade ago, Ubisoft was one of the first publishers to enhance players’ experience with more services and social features. We wanted to build upon this legacy to fulfill Ubisoft’s vision of a global community and bring these benefits to all our players,” says Charles Huteau, Ubisoft’s Creative Director on Ubisoft Connect.

Gathering millions of players, Ubisoft Connect is the ideal destination to connect with friends or participate in events and activities. Along with new exciting time-limited and community challenges, the service brings a cross-game loyalty system that lets players earn an uncapped amount of Units to spend on unique rewards, like weapons, outfits and consumables.

This more social and personalized gaming experience also comes with a newsfeed interface gathering friends’ activities and achievements, while a brand-new “Smart Intel” feature brings players dedicated tips and video recommendations based on their game activities. Each player will have access to data on their personal stats and playstyle to keep improving or compare with select groups of friends through an improved leaderboard system.

Designed for a new gaming era, one where players expect to be able to play, progress and stay in touch with friends anywhere, Ubisoft Connect lays the foundation that will enable Ubisoft’s games and services to live across platforms and make cross-platform features a standard moving forward*. As part of this commitment, full cross-progression, across all platforms and services, will be available with some of Ubisoft’s most highly anticipated upcoming titles, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Riders Republic.

“Next-generation gaming goes beyond technological improvements and better graphics. To us, as a creator and publisher, it is about bringing more fluidity and versatility in the experience to have the freedom to play games on whatever device and with whoever you want,” says Stephanie Perotti, Ubisoft’s Vice-President of Online Services. “Ubisoft Connect is our take on a new seamless experience to not only ease the transition between generations and platforms, but also be the starting point for new services that further contribute to new, more player-centric ways of enjoying games.”

To celebrate the launch of Ubisoft Connect and its improved loyalty program, more than 1,000 legacy Ubisoft Club rewards are unlocked today, for free, to all players. Regular updates will add more features and rewards to improve players’ experience along the way.

With Ubisoft Connect, the Ubisoft experience is available via current and soon to be released platforms: Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. To offer the most seamless integration and adapt to new cloud gaming and streaming services, Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna will also offer some Ubisoft Connect features later this year**. Additionally, players can also access the ecosystem via the Ubisoft Connect mobile application, the desktop app and on ubisoftconnect.com.

For more information on Ubisoft Connect, please visit ubisoftconnect.com.

*All cross-platform features for new releases, including cross-progression, are made possible with a Ubisoft account. Players will be able to login or create an account if they are connected online, but can still play if they are in offline mode.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Story Trailer Released

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla hits shelves November 10th on a slew of platforms including next-gen, and Ubisoft is ramped up the hype levels today with a story trailer.

The trailer introduces the backstory to Valhalla as well as teasing exactly how the Assassins figure into this Viking tale… I can’t wait to dive into the game’s combat, and I hope it’s as fleshed-out as the last few games have been.

Taking a break and revamping the game for Assassin’s Creed: Origins couldn’t have been an easy decision to make but it’s certainly proved effective. The game has hit all-new levels of immersion and interaction, with engaging combat and a progression system that keeps players coming back.

Couple that with Ubisoft’s now-trademark ongoing support for their games and it makes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla an easy recommendation for those picking up next-gen systems this November.

Ubisoft’s ‘Immortals Fenyx Rising’ Targets December 3rd Release

Immortals Fenyx Rising first hit public awareness as Gods & Monsters, but I’m feeling this title a bit more and if I’m being totally honest after seeing the gameplay I’m 100% sold no matter what they called it.

Looking a bit like Ubisoft’s take on Breath of the Wild, Immortals Fenyx Rising allows you to explore a world that’s populated with all kinds of flora and fauna, building your character as you go with a progression system that’s every bit as in-depth as you expect from an Ubisoft title. I’m interested in seeing if it can provide the same kind of free-form shenanigans that Breath of the Wild is known for…

Here’s the playlist – expect to hear a lot more about this one before the early-December release date:

SAVE THE GODS AND PROVE YOUR HEROISM IN IMMORTALS FENYX RISING, AVAILABLE DECEMBER 3

Wield the Power of the Gods and Battle Fearsome Mythological Beasts in an Epic Fight for the Ages

Montreal – SEPTEMBER 10 – Today at Ubisoft Forward, the company announced Immortals Fenyx Rising, formerly known as Gods & Monsters, will be available worldwide on December 3, 2020 for Stadia, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch system, PlayStation®4, Epic Games, the Ubisoft Store, UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service* and will release on PlayStation®5 upon the launch of the console.**

Developed by the team at Ubisoft Quebec, creators of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an exciting new IP that takes grand mythological adventure to new heights.***  Players will embody Fenyx, a new winged demigod, on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse. Only by mastering the legendary powers of the gods, overcoming heroic trials and confronting powerful mythological beasts, will Fenyx be able to take on Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology.

An exhilarating experience for all heroes at heart, the game features dynamic action gameplay, fast-paced aerial and melee combat and stories inspired by Greek mythology. Players will face off against mythological creatures like the Cyclops, Minotaur and Medusa. With the help of the Sword of Achilles, Bow of Odysseus and Wings of Daidalos, players will launch themselves up into the air to deal with the immensity of these creatures. In addition to combat, players’ logic and strategy will be challenged by world puzzles, from small scale individual puzzles all the way up to the epic Vaults of Tartaros.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an uplifting and witty take on the open world action adventure genre and is full of rewarding exploration through dynamic traversal. Sprint across open fields, climb enormous mountains, and glide through the skies to discover all the secrets of the seven unique regions inspired by the Greek Gods across the Golden Isle.

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, players will be able to make Fenyx their own with a wide range of customization options available.  Progression is varied, centered on the Hall of the Gods where players can upgrade Fenyx’s health, stamina or god-given abilities. In addition to upgrading Fenyx, the weapons, armor, and potions used can also be enhanced by defeating enemies and opening chests throughout the world.

The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the destination, and players will emerge as the heroes they are meant to become.

The Gold Edition of Immortals Fenyx Rising will include the base game, Season Pass and additional in-game content. All pre-orders will include one bonus quest, A Tale of Fire and Lightening.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Gets New Mode In Title Update 11

Ubisoft continues to expand on The Division 2, with Title Update 11 set to hit hard drives worldwide on September 22nd. This update will be adding a new mode “The Summit” as well as adding armor transmogrification, improving loot, and making serious – and seriously welcome – changes to how mods work.

The update also adds a new mode: The Summit. This pits agents, either solo or in squads, against 100 floors of action in a high-rise just packed full of enemies. Make it to the roof – you can use Rally Points as checkpoints to resume the action if you can’t dedicate entire days to this encounter – and you’ll fight a special battle.

I’m interested in diving back into The Division 2 when this hits, how about you?

TOM CLANCY’S THE DIVISION® 2 WARLORDS OF NEW YORK ANNOUNCES NEW MODE “THE SUMMIT” AS PART OF UPCOMING TITLE UPDATE 11

  • Starting September 22, The Summit Will Allow Warlords of New York Players to Experience What The Division has to Offer in a Single Replayable Mode
  • TU 11 also includes Season 3, Where the Manhunt Continues with Bardon Schaeffer, The Elusive Leader of the Black Tusk
  • Main Core Improvements in TU 11 Include: Appearance Mods, Improvements to ”Rainbow” Loot and Agnostic Mod Slots

Montreal  September 10, 2020 — Today at Ubisoft’s pre-show prior to its digital press conference, Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft announced that a new game mode is coming to Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 Warlords of New York, “The Summit.” The new mode is part of Title Update 11, which will go live on September 22. As part of TU 11, Season 3 will begin with a new manhunt, and major improvements will be made to the game’s core features. While The Summit and Season 3 are available for Warlords of New York owners, the game improvements will be available for all players.

Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 is available on the Xbox One family of devices, including the Xbox One X, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC, as well as on Stadia and UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service.*

The Summit (Warlords of New York Players)
Playing in squads or solo, The Summit will take Division Agents to a high-rise building, where they can scale up to 100 floors of action. Players will face different challenges and enemies on each floor as they progress toward the rooftop, where a special battle awaits. Using Rally Points (permanent checkpoints), players can also choose to focus on select sections of the building. This allows them to play at a preferred difficulty level and be rewarded accordingly for their efforts. The Summit will bring a new way to experience The Division in a single mode and offers high replayability as each attempt will be different. TU 11 will release on September 22 on all platforms for free.

Season 3 (Warlords of New York Players)
Also, on September 22, the third season of The Division 2 Warlords of New York will be available with a new manhunt. Players will target Bardon Schaeffer, the elusive leader of the Black Tusk as he recruits four disavowed agents to form and lead a new rogue cell. They will earn new gear and rewards as they progress through the season.

Seasons are part of the Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion and are a series of three-month long narrative-driven mini campaigns.

Players can also expect a familiar face to return for Season 4. More information to come at a later date.

Major Improvements (All Players)
Core changes and major improvements will be introduced as part of TU 11. These changes were tested on the game’s Public Test Server from September 4 to September 10.

Main Title Update 11 improvements:

  • Appearance Mods – or Transmogrification – is a new system to the existing character menu for The Division 2. Players can change the appearance of their gear beyond the normal dye and coloration.

Masks, backpacks, kneepads, gloves, holsters and all armor gear will be changeable. Appearance Mods will allow players to finally get the specialized look they always wanted or change the style of their setup.

Appearance Mods will become a mainstay of the game for all players, Level 1-40.
  • The improved ‘Rainbow’ loot will bring an update on how gear is assigning the first attribute on a gear piece. The first attribute will now have a percentage chance to roll the same as the core attribute. Players will experience less rainbow loot, meaning that items for a skill brand (Wyvern) are more likely to roll a skill-related attribute.
  • With Agnostic Mod Slots, all gear pieces will change (mask, chest, backpack) to accept any gear mod type. This means players can add some armor regen into their pure red build without sacrificing a recalibration on the mod slot.

Backward Compatibility
Today, The Division 2 also announced that the game will be backward compatible on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation® 5, allowing you to play The Division 2 on the new generation of consoles. In addition, the game will be cross-play compatible with next-gen consoles. This means Agents on PlayStation 4 can battle it out with Agents on PlayStation 5. Players on Xbox One can also take on Agents on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Fast-Paced Battle Royale ‘Hyper Scape’ Now Available On PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Hyper Scape feels like a breath of fresh air to the battle royale genre, with a focus on fast movement and verticality that no other game in the field comes close to. Previously available on PC in beta, the game releases officially today for PC, PS4, and Xbox One – launching its Season One Battle pass: “The First Principle” alongside it.

While the game has been immediately popular on PC, it will be interesting to see if it can find an audience on the consoles as the lightning fast movement and towering verticals might be harder to manage with a controller.

Here’s the press release:

HYPER SCAPE™ IS NOW AVAILABLE ON PC, PLAYSTATION® 4, AND XBOX ONE FAMILY OF CONSOLES

Discover New Hyper Scape Content in Season One: “The First Principle”

Montreal  AUGUST 11, 2020 — Today, Ubisoft® announced that Hyper Scape™ is now available on PC, PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One family of consoles, launching with its Season One: “The First Principle”. Hyper Scape is an urban, fast-paced, free-to-play battle royale game developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Bringing a fresh take on the battle royale genre, Hyper Scape introduces innovative gameplay mechanics such as Hacks, the Fusion, the Decay, the Showdown and many others.

Built from the ground up to support content creators, Hyper Scape developed the CrownCast™ extension with Twitch that offers a unique viewing experience and new tools for streamers to interact with their community live, on-stream.

“We are tremendously proud of today’s launch across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We’ve worked passionately for over two years to get to this milestone and we’re excited to say this is just the beginning,” said Graeme Jennings, Executive Producer on Hyper Scape. “With our fast-paced urban gameplay and one of a kind Crowncast Twitch extension, we’ve introduced a fresh new way to both play and interact with a Battle Royale.”

HYPER SCAPE’S STORY STARTS IN SEASON ONE

Season One kick-starts the overarching Hyper Scape narrative: There is a mystery in the Hyper Scape created by Prisma Dimensions that players will have to solve. Season One introduces Memory Shards that players can collect to discover more about certain characters and events. Every week, a new Memory Shard will be hidden in the game world, for players to find and collect. In addition to Memory Shards, comics will be released during Season One and following Seasons, building Hyper Scape’s story.

NEW CONTENT COMING WITH SEASON ONE

Hyper Scape’s first season introduces a brand new mid-range weapon, the Dragonfly, as well as a new hack, Magnet, which can be used to trap unsuspecting contenders. Season One will include a total of 11 guns and 11 hacks. In addition to Solo and Squad Crown Rush, additional limited time game modes are also planned throughout Season One.

NEW FEATURES FOR THE CROWNCAST EXTENSION ON TWITCH

Hyper Scape’s first season will introduce a new feature to the innovative Hyper Scape Crowncast Twitch extension: Kudos, a tool that allows viewers to support their streamers and react to the most exciting moments by producing in-game visual effects within a particular streamer’s match – Kudos can be purchased with Twitch’s Bits.

Thanks to Hyper Scape Crowncast, viewers can also progress on their free and premium Battle Pass by watching Hyper Scape streams on Twitch. Streamers can also invite viewers to join their squad in just a few clicks. The Vote on Events feature that provide viewers real-time impact on the battle gets extended in Season one with a new event card called “Lethal Melee.” During a “Lethal Melee” event, a player’s melee weapon can eliminate opponents in one hit. In total, nine Event cards are already available in the Hyper Scape Crowncast extension.

To celebrate the launch with the community, viewers will be able to unlock exclusive Hyper Scape emotes on Twitch. From August 17th through August 31st, when viewers subscribe, gift a subscription to a channel, or cheer with at least 300 Bits, viewers will earn Hyper Scape inspired emotes to use in chat and keep them permanently. Hyper Scape emotes are a unique opportunity to express excitement for this new gaming experience on Twitch.

SEASON ONE BATTLE PASS
