Xbox Series X Review

The Final Word:

The Xbox Series X is a clear evolution over the Xbox One X, offering up incredibly fast start-up and load times but we aren’t going to see games really using that 12.1 teraflops soon. I absolutely recommend getting one, but don’t be too upset if you can’t get one right away – especially if you don’t have a high-end TV that can take advantage of everything these consoles can do. The Xbox One X and One S still have a lot of life left in them, and everything you buy for them will carry over when it’s time for you to upgrade.

What I Loved:

  • Starts up so fast that it’s still like magic weeks later
  • Great controller and I love the d-pad
  • Super quiet hardware
  • Backwards compatibility – so many games available day one
  • Game Pass – still the best value in gaming
  • Smart Delivery makes switching generations easy

What I Liked:

  • The ‘tower of power’ isn’t as big as advertised, but has a solid look to it
  • Quick Resume – when it works
  • So many games supporting 60 and 120 fps
  • 802GB of usable superfast SSD space

What I Disliked:

  • That 1TB of SSD space (802 GB usable) disappeared fast…
  • No big ‘must have’ exclusive
  • Big games like CoD, Assassin’s Creed, and Dirt plagued by weird performance bugs

What I Hated:

  • The Seagate 1TB Storage Expansion is $299.99 Canadian…
